Anticipated improvements in health derived from the adoption of single-family dwellings have failed to materialize across North America. Attainment of this better quality of life can only come from life in urban environments. The only way to ensure society's survival is to refine our means of living, shifting away from one that consumes resources beyond the Earth's carrying capacity. Our society must begin to question the path of development selected by articulating the need for a drastically different development paradigm. This study investigated the efficacy of air frying as a seed roasting pre-treatment technique to improve the recovery of canolol and other oil-soluble sinapic acidic derivatives (SADs) from canola seeds. Air frying of canola seeds was carried out at temperature-time regimens of 160, 170, 180 or 190 <jats:sup>\u25e6<\/jats:sup>C for 5, 10, 15, or  20 min, respectively. Oil was extracted by the Soxtec method and the soluble SADs were extracted from the oil by addition of an equal volume of hexane\/70% methanol mixture followed by quantification using high performance liquid chromatography-diode array detection (HPLC-DAD). The total phenolic content (TPC) and antioxidative activity of the oils were also evaluated. The results indicated a time-temperature association for the recovery of canolol. The optimum air frying condition at 190 <jats:sup>o<\/jats:sup>C for 15 min produced the maximum yield of canolol (1439 \u00b1 45.6 \u03bcg\/100 g roasted seed) in addition to other unidentified SADs. The oil extracts obtained from canola seed roasted at 180, 15 min, 190 <jats:sup>o<\/jats:sup>C, 15 and 20 min showed the highest TPC (0.387 \u00b1 0.015, 0.413 \u00b1 0.002 and 0.419 \u00b1 0.002 mg GAE\/g oil), respectively, and the strongest antioxidant activities (DPPH radical scavenging and iron reducing), but exhibited weak metal ion chelating activity. Deficient curricula and lack of skilled midwifery educators are important factors affecting the quality of graduates from midwifery programmes. The study objective was to assess the capacity of university midwifery educators to deliver the updated competency-based curriculum after the capacity strengthening workshop in Kenya.\nMethods\n The study used a quasi-experimental (before-after) design. A four-day training to strengthen the capacity of educators to deliver emergency obstetrics and newborn care (EmONC) within the updated curriculum was conducted for 30 midwifery educators from 27 universities in Kenya. Before-after training assessments in knowledge, two EmONC skills and self-perceived confidence in using different teaching methodologies to deliver the competency-based curricula were conducted. Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to compare the before-after knowledge and skills mean scores. McNemar test was used to compare differences in the proportion of educators\u2019 self-reported confidence in applying the different teaching pedagogies. P-values\u2009&lt;\u20090.05 were considered statistically significant.\nFindings\n Thirty educators (7 males and 23 females) participated, of whom only 11 (37%) had participated in a previous hands-on basic EmONC training \u2013 with 10 (91%) having had the training over two years beforehand. Performance mean scores increased significantly for knowledge (60.3% \u2212\u200988. %), shoulder dystocia management (51.4% \u2013 88.3%), newborn resuscitation (37.9% \u2212\u200989.1%), and overall skill score (44.7% \u2212\u200988.7%), p\u2009&lt;\u20090.0001. The proportion of educators with confidence in using different stimulatory participatory teaching methods increased significantly for simulation (36.7% \u2013 70%, p\u2009=\u20090.006), scenarios (53.3% \u2013 80%, p\u2009=\u20090.039) and peer teaching and support (33.3% \u2013 63.3%, p\u2009=\u20090.022). There was improvement in use of lecture method (80% \u2013 90%, p\u2009=\u20090.289), small group discussions (73.3% \u2013 86.7%, p\u2009=\u20090.344) and giving effective feedback (60% \u2013 80%, p\u2009=\u20090.146), although this was not statistically significant.\nConclusion\n Training improved midwifery educators\u2019 knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver the updated EmONC-enhanced curriculum. To ensure that midwifery educators maintain their competence, there is need for structured regular mentoring and continuous professional development. Diare adalah Buang Air Besar (BAB) encer atau bahkan dapat berupa air (mencret) biasanya lebih dari 3 kali dalam sehari. Ini biasanya merupakan gejala infeksi saluran pencernaan. Penyakit ini dapat disebabkan oleh berbagai bakteri, virus dan parasit. Infeksi menyebar melalui makanan atau air minum yang terkontaminasi. Selain itu, dapat terjadi dari orang ke orang sebagai akibat buruknya kebersihan diri (personal hygiene) dan lingkungan (sanitasi). Diare berat menyebabkan hilangnya cairan, dan dapat menyebabkan kematian, terutama pMenurut Kementerian Kesehatan RI (2010), diare adalah suatu kondisi dimana seseorang buang air besar dengan konsistensi lembek atau cair, bahkan dapat berupa air saja dan frekuensinya ada anak-anak dan orang-orang yang kurang gizi atau memiliki gangguan imunitas. Menurut Kementerian Kesehatan RI (2010), diare adalah suatu kondisi dimana seseorang buang air besar dengan konsistensi lembek atau cair, bahkan dapat berupa air saja dan frekuensinya ebih sering (biasanya tiga kali atau lebih) dalam satu hari. Diare terdiri dari 2 jenis yaitu diare akut dan diare persisten\/kronik. Diare akut berlangsung kurang dari 14 hari. Diare kronik berlangsung lebih dari 14 hari.
