We aimed to evaluate reported COVID-19 epidemiology data to better understand the pandemic's progression in Rural Bikaner.<\/jats:p>\n               <\/jats:sec>\n               <jats:sec>\n                  <jats:title>Methods<\/jats:title>\n                  <jats:p>A record-based descriptive analysis study between first and second covid-19 waves, on the variables of interest including positivity rates, case fatality rate, demographic profile of positive patients.<\/jats:p>\n               <\/jats:sec>\n               <jats:sec>\n                  <jats:title>Results<\/jats:title>\n                  <jats:p>the daily reported cases at the peak of the first wave in rural area in 2020 was 20-25 cases per day and in second wave number of cases was increased double to first wave. Death rate and severity was also increased in second wave. In second wave the mean age of positive patients was decreased.<\/jats:p>\n               <\/jats:sec>\n               <jats:sec>\n                  <jats:title>Conclusions<\/jats:title>\n                  <jats:p>In our analysis rural area had a more severe second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic than the first and highlights the importance of examining multiple epidemiological variables down to the regional and country levels over time. These country-specific and regional results informed the implementation of continent-wide initiatives and supported equitable distribution of supplies and technical assistance. J. Polit. Econ."],"abstract":"<jats:p>ABSTRACT The case of port modernization reform in Brazil encapsules the problems Brazilian reformers face. Although reform legislation was passed in 1993 (Law 8.630\/93), many obstacles remain for full implementation of its provision. This article focuses on how business attitudes and actions deferred reform, and demonstrates how business is unable to contribute to reform implementation because of institutional obstacles and collective action problems. It then suggests a mechanism to overcoming these difficulties; specifically, it examines the evolution of corporatism and the value of constructing democratic close-knit policy communities meeting the needs of each sector. The empirical work is complemented with an unusual combination of three theoretical approaches to explain the political economy of institutional modernization: institutional economics as developed by Douglass North, the logic of collective action as elaborated by Mancur Olson, and policy network analysis as developed by Marsh and Rhodes, Jordan and This literature review aims to illuminate the global issues surrounding suicide, with a specific focus on the alarming rates of suicide among youth in the Philippines. The review conducts a non-systematic evaluation of current evidence on suicidal ideation and attempts among individuals aged 10 to 24. Utilizing a straightforward corpus analysis method, this study examines a range of recent research to enhance understanding of suicide and its prevalence in this demographic, while also considering age and gender patterns. Given that the suicide rates for this age group are notably high, there is an urgent need to develop effective programs and address the pervasive stigma surrounding mental health. In response, the Department of Health (DOH) in the Philippines has initiated a multi-sectoral approach to mental health, implementing programs and interventions across various settings\u2014including workplaces, schools, and communities\u2014specifically targeting chapter examines the digital divide in Jamaican higher education and outlines inclusive strategies to promote equity and access. It draws on national data, institutional case studies, and the author's professional experience at an online university. Key barriers include infrastructural gaps, socio-economic inequality, limited digital literacy, and lack of culturally relevant content. The chapter highlights the importance of Universal Design for Learning, faculty development, and community-based digital hubs. It presents practical recommendations for government, higher education institutions, and civil society to enhance digital inclusion. Emphasis is placed on the need for localized open educational resources, improved connectivity in rural areas, and policies that center student voices and experiences.
