environmental forces that shape disproportionate HIV rates among women in less-developed countries. Specifically, we analyze how environmental degradation and women’s property rights condition female unemployment rates in poor nations and ultimately, patterns of disease. Using data from 105 less-developed nations, we construct a structural equation model to analyze influences on the proportion of HIV cases among women. We find that environmental degradation is an important, though often overlooked factor contributing to the female HIV burden across nations, through mechanisms such as female unemployment, disenfranchisement, and poor access to socio-health services. We also find that restrictions on property rights for women impact female unemployment and access to health services. Conclusions point to the efficacy of incorporating ecofeminist frameworks that emphasize ecological conditions alongside political, economic, and social forces to explain global health and gender inequalities in HIV/AIDS.
[[2021,1,28
["Gendered Inequalities in HIV/AIDS: Investigating Linkages between Degradation, Disenfranchisement, Unemployment and Disease
[[2021
International Journal of Social Research
2021,1,28
[[2021
["2576-5531
[[2021
2025,2,21
["21-12-00304
21-12-00304
["Computer Optics
2022,8
Highly efficient reflectors are in demand in the rapidly developing optoelectronics. At the moment, distributed Bragg reflectors made of semiconductor materials are mainly used in this capacity. A lot of time and financial resources are spent on their production. Reducing the thickness of the reflector while maintaining its reflectivity would make these devices more affordable and extend their lifetime by reducing thermal noise. With the help of genetic optimization algorithms, the structures of multilayer semiconductor and combined metal-semiconductor reflectors were obtained, having a smaller thickness and equal optical characteristics than those of classical analogues. A brief history of the study of this group of animals is reviewed. The use of two accounting methods (cones with guide systems and trap lines) made it possible to identify the species composition most fully. 18 species of insectivores and rodents have been registered in the studied territory. At the same time, the species composition, the group of background and dominant species, and the indicators of the total abundance of small mammals in the studied territory were largely determined by the specifics of the animal accounting method. The same place and the same time every year.
Ten years passed from the first workshop. History of the workshop starts from 2009 with 16 presentations. The idea of such workshop came up at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics. Lithuanian Academy of Sciences and the Lithuanian Computer Society supported this idea. This idea got approval both in the Lithuanian research community and abroad. The number of this year presentations is 81. The number of registered participants is 113 from 13 countries.
In 2010, the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics became a member of Vilnius University, the largest university of Lithuania. In 2017, the institute changes its name into the Institute of Data Science and Digital Technologies. This name reflects recent activities of the institute. The renewed institute has eight research groups: Cognitive Computing, Image and Signal Analysis, Cyber-Social Systems Engineering, Statistics and Probability, Global Optimization, Intelligent Technologies, Education Systems, Blockchain Technologies.
The main goal of the workshop is to introduce the research undertaken at Lithuanian and foreign universities in the fields of data science and software engineering. Annual organization of the workshop allows the fast interchanging of new ideas among the research community.
Even 11 companies supported the workshop this year. This means that the topics of the workshop are actual for business, too. Topics of the workshop cover big data, bioinformatics, data science, blockchain technologies, deep learning, digital technologies, high-performance computing, visualization methods for multidimensional data, machine learning, medical informatics, ontological engineering, optimization in data science, business rules, and software engineering. Seeking to facilitate relations between science and business, a special session and panel discussion is organized this year about topical business problems that may be solved together with the research community.
This book gives an overview of all presentations of DAMSS-2018.
[[2018,12,12
["Preface
[[2018,12,20
Vilnius University Proceedings
[[2024,10,24
[[2018,12,20
[[2018,12,20
https://doi.org/10.15388/damss.2018.1
2669-0233
[[2018,12,20
2024,9,8
[[2014,12,1
["Francotheque: A resource for French studies
[[2014,2,25
[[2021,4,6
[[2014,2,25
9781444165418
[[2014,2,25
2026,2,10
This guide is designed to support students undertaking legal studies and contribute to developing research skills in Australian law schools. The article implements the goal of studying the components of the development of the socioeconomic system and substantiating the feasibility of ensuring the adequacy of strategic and, accordingly, tactical tasks of human development with the strategic tasks of the development of the Transcarpathian region. The study showed that the strategic management of the regional economic system and its human component is based on four stages, for components, which include the definition of the development goal, the outline of strategic tasks, strategic planning and the implementation of the strategy and strategic plan. At the same time, each stage of strategic management of the entire system is adequate to the stages of strategic management of human potential. The proposed goal of human development of the regional economy, which determines the main strategic tasks: the formation of a culture of development and education of the needs of development and learning throughout life. The combination of these two tasks leads to the formation of an innovative and ecologically oriented economy. It is recommended that it is advisable to move from the level of strategic tasks to the level of strategic planning, to the level of developing plans within which the specified tasks will be implemented. The strategic plan is similar to the plan of current actions and may include a) a specific measure aimed at solving the task (including the task of human development); b) the mechanism of implementation of planned actions (including human development); c) terms; d) responsible structures; e) budget. The results of the study of the level of labor productivity of the employed as an indicator of the efficiency of the use of human potential are presented. Exept this way, to determine the effectiveness of using human potential in a country, it is advisable to examine the dynamics of gross regional product and compare it with the growth (or decline) rates of employment or labor force. Given that the GDP per employee for the period since 2010 has been growing faster than the GDP of Ukraine, the conducted study allows us to state that the human potential of Ukraine is not being used effectively. During the specified period, there has been a reduction in the labor force from 22.1 million people to 17.3 million, the growth rate is 78.6, which means that the labor force has decreased by 11.4 percent. The employment indicator is more informative. A decrease of 2.8 million people is also observed in this category. Among the obstructions, the deterioration of demography in the country is highlighted, which certainly affects the number of labor force; insufficient development of the economy, which can be an attractor or, conversely, an obstruction to the trend of the number of labor force in general and the number of employed people in a timely manner; imperfection of the labor market institute, failure to fulfill the motivational function of attracting labor force to the country. The reason for the insufficiently effective use of human potential in Ukraine is considered to be the imperfect structure of the employed and unemployed. Thus, the share of employed people in the population of Ukraine aged 15–70 decreased from 58.5% in 2010 to 56.2% in 2020. In 2021, the percentage of employed people in this age group is 52 percent. Migration, within which the most active part of the labor force is decreasing; insufficient motivation to work, which is reflected in low wages; reduction of full-time employees, which indicates insufficient business activity, are also highlighted as reasons that affect the inhibition of increasing the efficiency of human potential use.
[[2025,4,25
["EFFICIENCY OF USING HUMAN POTENTIAL IN UKRAINE AND ITS OBSTRUCTIONS
[[2025
Herald UNU.
